Mandate of Heaven clothing is currently seeking interns. We are an independent Brooklyn based clothing line specializing in one of a kind and small run pieces made partially or completely from vintage, recycled and/or organic materials. We are currently looking for interns who can commit 3 days a week for 6 months, 2 days a week for 8 months, or 1 day a week for a year. PLEASE DO NOT APPLY TO THIS INTERNSHIP IF YOU MAY NOT BE ABLE TO FILL THE TIME COMMITMENT REQUESTED.
Applicants should have a strong work ethic and a deep interest in fashion/art/design. Ideal qualities include sewing/cutting skills, photoshop proficiency, organizational skills, a strong work ethic, a wide knowledge of fashion history and an interesting personality.
Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: hand and machine sewing and construction, pattern making, fit modeling, photo shoot assistance, web maintenance, administrative tasks, errands, design and fabric research, workspace organization, event planning and coordination, marketing assistance, etc.
Knowledge of html and a portable Mac laptop are plusses, but not required. Please indicate in your cover letter if one or both of these attributes applies to you.
Please note that this is a non-paid internship. However, we offer a great learning and networking opportunity, a cool work environment, and a 30% discount on Mandate items, and one complimentary piece upon full completion of internship. School credit is available upon request, if applicable within your program.
